World Literacy Day, 2024

Al-Fajr Institute, Mari Indus, Mianwali, celebrated World Literacy Day with great enthusiasm, focusing on this year’s theme, “Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace.” The event included speeches by students in both English and Urdu, where they expressively highlighted the critical role of literacy and multilingual education in promoting peace and mutual understanding across the globe. During their speeches, the students emphasized how learning multiple languages not only enhances communication but also helps bridge cultural divides, promote empathy, and encourage peaceful living in a diverse world. Furthermore, the Principal of Al-Fajr College, Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Mr. Haroon Khan Lecturer emphasized the importance of literacy in driving innovation and addressing complex global challenges. The event concluded with a walk led by the teachers and students of Al-Fajr Institute in order to raise awareness about the importance of literacy and multilingual education for building a peaceful and harmonious society. The participants carried banners and placards, advocating for literacy as a key tool for global peace. The event was part of the institute’s ongoing efforts to promote education and social responsibility within the community.
